ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
In this seminar series Drs. Beebe, Cohen, and Sossin present instances of compelling clinical work illuminated by the process of video microanalysis. The use of video in mother-infant, child and adult treatment can deepen our ability to perceive and understand face-to face nonverbal communication. They will present Microanalysis as a Social Microscope: learning to Observe Nonverbal Communication in Infancy; The use of video in mother-infant treatment: the Linda and Dan case; Mothers, Infants and Young Children of September 11,2001; A primary prevention project; Building Blocks: a Primary Prevention Project; and Video Feedback in an Adult Treatment: A patient who does not look.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Beatrice Beebe is a psychologist, psychoanalyst, mother-infant therapist, and researcher in mother- infant communication at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University, USA. She teaches at several psychoanalytic institutes in New York City. Phyllis Cohen is a psychologist, psychoanalyst, child and adolescent therapist, and couples therapist. She teaches child, adolescent and couples therapy at several psychoanalytic institutes and at New York University Postdoctoral Program, USA.
K. Mark Sossin is a psychologist, psychoanalyst, and Professor of Psychology at Pace University, USA. His ongoing research focuses on infant-parent interaction, transmission of stress, autism, nonverbal/movement behavior, and early childhood affective development.
MATERIALS
Although many of the materials will be provided at no cost, participants are advised to purchase one book in advance: Beebe, Cohen & Lachmann, The Mother-Infant Interaction Picture Book. This book is available for purchase with a 10% discount provided to seminar registrants through Caversham Booksellers N.B. Registration fees have been adjusted to off-set the cost of the book. All costs are in Canadian dollars.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This program has been approved by the Ontario Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists and psychological associates. This program meets the criteria for 20 continuing education credits.
These continuing education and professional development hours can also be used towards your continuing education, professional development portfolio for your respective colleges, including the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
