Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists
Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists
Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists (CAPCT) is a registered not-for-profit association, established in 1980. Its members are in the majority graduates of the Canadian Institute of Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy training (CICAPP) – formerly Toronto Child Psychoanalytic Program (TCPP) – as well as other mental health professionals who have psychoanalytic training equivalent to CICAPP.
The CAPCT serves its members and mental health professionals by providing Continuing Education and Professional Development opportunities for the advancement of psychoanalytic thought in clinical practice. The Continuing Education program is for our members and the Extension Program is open to mental health professionals in the community. The CAPCT also serves parents who are looking for well-trained child and adolescent psychotherapists.
Psychoanalytic child and adolescent psychotherapists provide assessments and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and families who have difficulties in thinking, feeling, or behaviour that interferes with healthy development and emotional well-being.
