ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Lately, we have seen a significant increase in the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnoses. Would this increase be referred to as a new form of illness or a generalized social difficulty in dealing with the new demands of an overstimulated generation? Who serves this diagnosis, offered so indiscriminately by professionals in the field of mental health and urged by schools? How do parents receive or fight for this diagnosis? The present discussion aims to raise these relevant questions in the psychoanalytic clinic field through one case study. Thus, the proposal offered here is to discuss this critically from the perspective of the Freud-Lacanian psychoanalytical clinic.
